WestCo Derby is always welcoming new skaters, volunteers, and referees!

Skaters: If you are 18 years of age or older and have a passion to play derby, we would love to meet you. No previous skating experience is required. We will train you in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Periodically, the team hosts beginner boot camps to help prospective skaters learn the fundamentals. Here are some things you may wish to know about “Getting Started At WestCo”.

Transfer Skaters: Transfer skaters are individuals that have any experience skating with another league, regardless of the rule set, and that are capable of passing the WFTDA minimum skills test. A transfer skater can join the league at any time during the year.

All skaters are responsible for the cost of their own gear, WFTDA insurance, dues and rink fees. In order to keep it affordable, the league engages in various fundraisers and skater sponsorship programs.

Volunteers: Are you looking for a way to put your talents to good use and meet some amazing people along the way? Well, look no further! We can always use non-skating officials as well as  help with bout production, graphic design, special events, and more.

Referees: Do you look great in stripes, own a whistle, enjoy skating or are stickler for the rules? WestCo always appreciates the assistance of skating officials for bouts and practices. No experience is necessary–except a willingness to skate and learn.
